Beautiful Baker’s Twine is made in England by the sole UK manufacturer of cotton baker’s twine, James Lever 1856. James Lever is a family run business now in its sixth generation and have been manufacturing strings and twines in Bolton, Lancashire since 1856.
James Lever rope and twine manufacturers was established by the first James lever in 1856, when bindings from the cotton spinners of Bolton were transformed into sturdy rope and sold back to the mills as transmission ropes. As mill machinery became more sophisticated, with less dependency on rope transmission drive, James Lever diversified into a range of cords, twines and strings.
With a long history of producing strings and twines, James Lever have the skills and knowledge required to produce some of the finest quality craft twines on the market. Today, James Lever are supplying Beautiful Baker’s Twines across Europe, the USA and the rest of world.
